“The Motivating Power of the Resurrection” – April 13th, 2022

“The Motivating Power of the Resurrection” – April 13th, 2022

Dear Church Family, There are some things that motivate us that should not and some things that don’t motivate us that should. When I think of the latter, the love of Jesus, the best interest of others, and the glory of God come to mind. We really should be highly motivated to live in light of these realities. If I am honest, sometimes these truths drive my behavior and sometimes they don’t. On Sunday morning we will be celebrating Easter. The title of the sermon is “The Motivating Power of the Resurrection.” Our text is I Corinthians 15:29-34. Other verses that will prepare you for our time in God’s Word are Romans 8:36-39, I Corinthians 15:58, and 2 Timothy 4:6-8. We also will enjoy brunch together at the 10:00 am Sunday School hour. Everyone is welcome. How glorious to be together again! May the Lord grant us all a very special Easter Sunday as we celebrate the resurrected Christ. Have a blessed day! Because He Lives, Pastor...

“The Marks of a Disciple: Part II” – March 30th, 2022

“The Marks of a Disciple: Part II” – March 30th, 2022

Dear Church Family, The qualities that mark a person to be a good husband, a good wife, a good citizen, or a good employee are all helpful. We need to identify people by the characteristics that they display. Sometimes these identifying marks are obvious while others are surprising. On Sunday we will be looking at a surprising mark of a genuine disciple of Jesus. Our text is Matthew 10:26-31. The title of the message is “The Marks of a Disciple: Part II.” Other verses that will prepare you for our time in God’s word are Isaiah 41:10, Proverbs 29:25, and Matthew 6:26. I am excited to be sharing God’s word with you again. May the Lord grant you the privilege to demonstrate that you belong to Him. Have a wonderful day! In His Matchless Grace, Pastor...

“The Marks of a Disciple: Part I” – March 9th, 2022

Dear Church Family, Expectations are a blessing and a curse. When good expectations are met, we are delighted. When good expectations are not met, we may be deflated. Negative expectations can have the same diametrically opposed impact. We are delighted when negative expectations do not come to fruition and less than thrilled when they do. Expectations influence us as disciples’ of the Lord Jesus Christ as well. On Sunday morning we will be looking at Matthew 10:24-25. The title of the message is “The Marks of a Disciple: Part I.” Other verses that will prepare you for the message are 2 Kings 2:1-2, I John 2:6, and 2 Timothy 3:12. May the Lord bless our time in His word. Roland and Karen Maust will have a missions moment in both services and will teach the adult Sunday School classes in the sanctuary. It should be a great day! May the Lord grant you the desires of your heart. God bless you and have a great day! Because Of Jesus, Pastor...

“The Perils of Ministry: Part II” – March 2nd, 2022

“The Perils of Ministry: Part II” – March 2nd, 2022

Dear Church Family, When I  think of being a disciple of the Lord Jesus I think of Bible studies, prayer, Scripture memory, serving others, fellowship, using my spiritual gifts, and sharing the gospel of grace to those who don’t know Him. I generally don’t think of the potential cost and dangers of being identified with Jesus. That is part of being His disciple. On Sunday morning we will take a final look at “The Perils of Ministry: Part II.” Our text is Matthew 10:19-21. Other verses that will prepare you for our time in His word are Exodus 4:12, John 14:26, and I John 2:19. I am looking forward to sharing with you the heart of the Lord on Sunday morning. May you show yourself to be a good disciple of Jesus today and every day. God bless you and see you on Sunday! In His Matchless grace, Pastor...

“The Perils of Ministry: Part I” – February 23rd, 2022

Dear Church Family, I googled “activities that people consider dangerous.” The following are some of the activities that made that list: Shark diving, biking across the desert, Kayaking over a waterfall, bull running, walking on the wings of a  plane, cliff diving, and bungee jumping. No one mentioned representing Jesus, except Jesus. On Sunday morning we will be looking at Matthew 10:16-18. The title of the message is “The Perils of Ministry: Part I.” Other verses that will prepare you for our time in God’s word are Ezekiel 2:1-8, Acts 20:28-31, and Philippians 1:29. May the Lord bless our worship services, especially the time in His word. May each of us have the courage to represent Jesus in an increasingly hostile world. God bless you and have a wonderful day! For the Prince of Peace, Pastor...
